NEXT BOARD MEETING

The next Board Meeting will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at 6:30 p.m. in the staff lounge at Morning Creek Elementary School.  Members are invited to attend and partake during the open session.

LANDSCAPE UPGRADES

As part of last fall's upgrades, the Board approved new plants on the slope located at Evening Creek and Sabre Hill Drive.  As the season progresses, we look forward to seeing the enhance- ment of this area.  The Board is now considering a plan for the slope located at Morning Creek South and Sabre Springs Parkway.  This is the final area to be upgraded.  A decision on whether or not to do this work will be made at the May meeting.

LANDSCAPE TIPS

Spring is the perfect time to put down pre-emergents and to fertilize both the lawn and shrub beds.  This will help enhance the appearance of your front yard.  Keep in mind that regular maintenance is required.  As with everything else, plant material has a life expectancy.  If your plant material is 8-10 years old, it is probably time to replace it.  Periodically, lawns need to be over seeded to fill in bare area.

TREE TRIMMING

Arborist Katie Fulhorst has been contracted to perform quarterly inspections of the common area and advise on tree trimming as well as other plant concerns.  Katie's comments are forwarded to the landscape and tree contractors who make the necessary corrections.

WEB SITE

Meeting agendas, minutes and the newsletters for Sabre Springs Neighborhood Ass-ociation are now posted on the web site.  An archive file has been established for minutes and newsletters.  Owners can also obtain a copy of the architectural application for their use when making exterior changes.  Access the site at www.sabrespringshoa.org.

SPRING REVIEW OF HOMES

With spring approaching, now is a good time for owners to review the exterior of the  home to determine whether it needs to be painted and/or have the stucco cleaned.  Many of the homes only need the garage door and trim painted, while others have severe staining on the stucco particularly around the chimney.  During the next few months, regular inspections of the community will include doc-umenting homes that require maintenance.  Please take the time to review your home and improve the appearance as needed.
